Conducting community-based research in San Vicente, Ilocos Sur was a transformative experience that offered deep insights into the local dynamics and challenges faced by the community. Initially, establishing trust and rapport with the residents was crucial. Through open dialogue and active listening, we gained valuable perspectives that shaped our research direction. Exploring the community's socio-economic landscape revealed a complex tapestry of traditions, livelihoods, and aspirations. Engaging with local leaders and stakeholders provided multifaceted views on issues such as sustainable agriculture, access to education, and healthcare. Witnessing firsthand the resilience and resourcefulness of the people underscored the importance of community-led solutions.
